The south fork of the Kings River begins high in the western Sierra, but becomes easily accessible in Kings Canyon National Park.
I’ve fished here a half-dozen years, each time in October/November. (CalTrans closes Highway 180 at the Hume Lake turnoff at the first snow every fall, usually by early November.)
The fish are small and wily, but I almost always catch fish and the river and canyon are beautiful.
